Ongoing Initiatives

Since it inception CFAR has been focusing on issue-based advocacy and communication research relating to the social and development aspects of such critical issues as HIV/AIDS, the urban poor, female foeticide and marginalized communities.

HIV/AIDS: CFAR is partnering HIV/AIDS prevention projects that are working at the state, district and taluk levels with vulnerable communities like injecting drug user, women in sex work and transgender in six high prevalent states. Read More


Urban poor: Since 2005 we have been creating forums of poor urban women in four cities- Delhi, Pune, Jaipur and Bangalore and helping them to advocate with the local administration on their right and entitlements.  Read More


Sex Selection & Sex Determination: Over the last thee year CFAR has been working relentlessly at developing the mechanism and capacities of relevant stakeholders to ensure the implementation of the PCPNDT (Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques) Act in six district of Rajasthan. Read More


Creating a cadre of master trainers: CFAR is facilitating the process of training a team of Master Trainers as part of a state-wide orientation-cum-sensitization program of leaders of Self Help Groups on HIV/AIDS in Maharashtra. Read More


Bagalkot Learning site: CFAR is designing, developing and implementing a replicable rural community project for HIV/AIDS in four taluks of Bagalkot in Karnataka.  Read More
